The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process by which adults are welcomed into full communion with the Catholic Church. Formerly known as RCIA, this journey is rooted in the early traditions of the Church and is designed for those who are seeking Baptism or baptized Catholics who have not yet received Confirmation or the Eucharist.
OCIA is not simply a class—it is a period of spiritual formation and conversion. Through prayer, study of Sacred Scripture, reflection on Catholic teaching, and participation in parish life, participants gradually grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and come to understand the richness of the Church’s faith and sacramental life.
This process unfolds in stages marked by important liturgical rites, often celebrated during Mass, especially throughout the season of Lent. These rites reflect the Church’s support and prayer for those preparing to receive the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil.
The parish OCIA office is here to accompany seekers with patience, clarity, and pastoral care. Whether you are exploring the Catholic faith for the first time or completing your sacraments, we welcome your questions and are honored to walk with you as you discern God’s call.
If you feel the Lord drawing you closer, we invite you to reach out and begin this journey of faith.
